Tributary is a non-custodial pull-payment primitive on Solana.
With Tributary, a user can delegate spending authority once; money then moves itself within user-defined rules: a trigger condition, a value to pull, and a destination to route to.
The primitive runs in production as recurring payments with minimal configuration:
- WHEN (schedule)
- PULL (fixed, variable, or percentage)
- ROUTE (any wallet)
Subscriptions, pay-as-you-go billing, milestone payouts, and dollar-cost averaging all reduce to the same primitive with different knobs.
Stablecoins serve as the default source mint for every flow: a payer delegates a pull allowance to the protocol once (the signature that turns a balance into a flow) and the stablecoins move on schedule without further custody, signature, or operator. This is pull-payment rails done natively: no custodial intermediary, no per-payment signature tax, no wallet-as-wheelbarrow.
Tributary is also non-custodial: your wallet stays untouched until a rule fires. Execution can be permissionless so that a fleet of operators can open the gate and flows become highly available and robust. The same primitive also extends to composable automation (e.g., WHEN opens to oracle and balance conditions while ROUTE opens to any DeFi primitive including swapping, lending, and staking).
